GreaterGood South Africa provides specialist Corporate Social Investment services to more than 80 corporate clients while keeping in close contact with over 1,600 non profit organisations working on the ground to effect change in South Africa. We are uniquely positioned in the CSI field because we have in-depth knowledge about the development world as well as an understanding of the realities of Corporate Social Investment programmes and how they work.

CSI Managers Forum

The Forum is a platform for CSI managers and co-ordinators to gain insight from experts in the CSI field and share their experience of Corporate Social Investment developments in South Africa.

The Forum provides:

  • An un-pressured environment where you can get quick, fact-based information on focus areas within the Corporate Social Investment field.
  • An opportunity to network with other CSI professionals – sharing learnings, challenges and successes.
  • Access to up-to-the-minute, unbiased information on CSI in South Africa.

Membership of the forum is by invitation to CSI managers and co-ordinators only.

Development Sector Workshops
Interactive workshops on specific development sectors in South Africa, delivered by experts in the relevant field. In-depth analysis of the sector and the issues around it will provide cutting-edge insight for CSI Managers to make informed investment decisions.

Corporate services

Strategic:

  • Consulting on the development, implementation and management of CSI programmes.
  • Designing and implementing CSI policies and strategies.
  • Developing corporate sponsorship policy documents.
  • Researching the CSI environment within specific corporate market sectors to facilitate unique CSI positioning.

Research and evaluation:

  • Identifying non-profit organisations and their projects to meet specific CSI programme needs.
  • Assessing and verifying non-profit organisations and their projects in terms of organisational capacity, needs analysis and risk profile.
  • Evaluating existing CSI initiatives to gain an understanding of the company’s social investment impact on the community.
  • Helping to establish effective CSI project monitoring and evaluation processes.

Financial and administrative support:

  • Supporting and/or managing the allocation and distribution of grant funding to identified beneficiaries.
  • Providing financial management services for CSI funds held in trust by GreaterGood SA and, where appropriate, issuing Section 18A tax exemption receipts.
  • Processing grant applications and sending relevant responses to applicants.
  • Assisting with the design and production of annual CSI reports and booklets.

Employee volunteering and giving:

  • Identifying effective and unique volunteer opportunities for employee engagement initiatives.
  • Developing, implementing and managing tailor-made employee volunteer programmes, including monitoring staff preferences and report-backs.
  • Implementing and managing staff giving programmes, including tracking and reporting on donations made.

Surplus product redistribution:

  • Managing the redistribution of surplus product to verified organisations within the scope of the company’s CSI priorities.
  • Ensuring appropriate identification of beneficiaries, transportation, reportbacks and publicity where possible.

Cause-related Marketing:

  • Working with the business to identify and initiate Cause Related Marketing opportunities with identified non-profit partners.
  • Identifying high quality products manufactured by non-profit organisations as company gifts which can also be branded with company logos.
