Sport is a South African obsession. If we're not playing it, we're watching it, arguing about it or cheering for it. Sport has the ability to unite people like nothing else but after years of under-investment, opportunities are still limited for the average young South African to make it at the highest level. With the Beijing Olympics around the corner, we looked at the state of sports development.

Rising prices start to bite
Fifty percent of the people who completed our rising prices and giving poll said they couldn't afford to give as much to causes and 20% said they were giving less often. Only 10% said they were finding other ways to give, like volunteering, while 20% said that rising prices were not affecting their giving at all.
