Concerned members of the NGO community are marching to the National Lotteries Board in Pretoria on Friday, 27 January 2012. If you are in the area, join the march to make our voice heard.
"I’m sure you’ll all agree that the conduct of the National Lotteries Board has been questionable since the day of their inception. We have endured years of their maladministration and questionable decisions. We have made numerous attempts to rectify the situation and to have clarity regarding their grant criteria i.e. how and to whom they allocate funding," says march organiser, Sandra Millar.
"Quite frankly we have had enough."
Venue & arrangements:
Assemble on the cnr of Park & Festival Street at 09:00
At 09:30 we will march along Park Street to the Lotto Offices (cnr Arcadia & Hilda Streets)
We have notified the National Lotteries Board that a senior member of staff must be available to receive our memorandum between 10:00 and 10:30.
We have to disperse by 12:00.
We have received permission from the Metro Police Services Division (Tshwane) for the march.
"We need EVERYONE'S support – let us present a united front – so that the Lotto knows we are a powerful group of people who do vital and important work. We render services to thousands of poor, frail, abused and marginalised people who would be otherwise forgotten. We do make a difference in South Africa!"
