Here are a few easy tips for getting the most from Myggsa.co.za:
- Set up your profile. Your profile is a great way to connect with organisations and other givers interested in the same things as you are. Click on Edit your profile and add a Profile picture and description and check your giving interests.
- Give what you can. Times are tough and not everyone has money to give. The great thing about Myggsa.co.za is that you can give what you have – goods, time, money and your skills. Post an offer or respond to requests from Causes. That way you’ll be giving where it is needed.
- Sharing is caring. Help us get more people, giving more to great Causes in South Africa. Invite your friends and family to register and encourage the community organisations you know to join.
- Give responsibly. The great thing about giving through Myggsa.co.za is that you have peace of mind that your donation will go where it was intended. We check the credentials of all the organisations listed and pay out donations quarterly through our Trust account. We do not charge Causes for our services but we ask givers for a 5% Good Grant. This pays for website administration, checks on causes and is re-invested in outreach, technology, tools and training to make this an even better resource for social change-makers.
- Respect the community. Myggsa.co.za is an online community, driven by its members – that’s you! Givers and Causes are responsible for their own content online and, while we moderate where we can, we ask our users to respect that this is a community for the greater good of South Africa.
